In what car i will take my driving test?
On the day of the practical driving test in oxford, you will be picked up by your instructor one hour before your practical driving test is due to begin for a bit of practice and last minutes advice, then you’ll be heading over to James Wolfe Road driving test centre in oxford, right off Hollow Way. It is a small residential estate and is a 20-minute drive from the centre of Oxford. You will need to bring with you your provisional driving licence.
Your instructor will use the hour before the practical driving test to take you through each of the manoeuvres once. They will run you through the show me tell me questions and answers for the final time.
What is an ADI?
ADI stands for Approved Driving Instructor. This means that the instructor has completed the full instructional course set by the DVSA. An ADI will display a blue badge in their car.
What is PDI?
A PDI (potential driving instructor) must complete three tests that are set by the DVSA before they become an ADI (approved driving instructor).
If you are being taught by a potential driving instructor, this means that they have completed two of these three tests and are actively working their way towards taking their final test.
A PDI will have a pink badge in their car. After 6 months of teaching learners, the potential driving instructor must take and pass their final exam. If they don’t, their PDI licence will expire and they won’t be allowed to teach any longer. If a potential driving instructor fails their final test three times, their PDI licence will be taken away.
