Who runs Oxon Driving Tuitions?
Oxon Driving Tuitions is owned and run by Sam. He founded the school in Oxford in 2018 after an earlier career in IT, and still teaches automatic lessons himself alongside the rest of the team.
How long has Oxon Driving Tuitions been teaching in Oxford?
Since 2018. In that time more than 750 learners have passed their driving test with us, and our first time pass rate stands at 87 per cent.
Do you teach manual and automatic?
How many instructors does Oxon Driving Tuitions have?
We have five instructors, teaching a mix of manual and automatic across Oxford and the surrounding areas. You can see the whole team further up this page.
Can I choose which instructor teaches me?
We match you rather than ask you to choose. We look at the transmission you want to learn in, the part of Oxford you are in, and the days and times you can drive, then allocate the instructor who fits best. If the match is not right, tell us and we will look at it again.
How much do driving lessons cost in Oxford with you?
Lessons start from £45 per hour, with block booking discounts available. New learners can use our New Driver introductory offer, and we have separate rates for NHS staff and for students with valid ID.
Where do you pick learners up from?
We pick up from home, work, the John Radcliffe or Churchill hospitals, and Oxford Brookes or university campuses. We cover Oxford itself plus Kidlington, Wheatley, Abingdon and Bicester.
Do you book my driving test for me?
No. Learners book their own DVSA practical test through GOV.UK. We will tell you honestly when we think you are ready, and we will help you plan the timing around your lessons.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 48 hours notice to cancel or move a lesson. Cancellations at shorter notice may be charged, because the slot is usually too late to offer to another learner.
I am a very nervous driver. Will that be a problem?
Not at all, and it is more common than people think. Our instructors are used to teaching anxious learners and will start on quiet roads at a pace you are comfortable with. Nothing is sprung on you, and you will never be pushed into traffic you are not ready for.
