Built Around Term Time, Not Against It
Timetables that change each term, coursework weeks where nothing else fits, and long vacations that are perfect for an intensive block. We have been teaching learners across Oxford since 2018 and a good share of them have been students.
- ALessons after lecturesSlots run from 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays, so an evening lesson after a full teaching day is straightforward.
- BIntensive courses over the vacationA block of 20, 30 or 45 hours condensed into the Christmas, Easter or summer vacation is the fastest realistic route to a licence.
- CPick up from halls or your house shareHeadington, Cowley, Marston, Iffley, Jericho, Summertown and Botley are all covered, along with the Brookes Headington campus.
- DPatient with first time driversPlenty of students have never been behind the wheel. Lessons start on quiet residential streets and build up only when the basics are solid.
Getting you ready for the Oxford (Cowley) test centre
Your practical test will be booked at the Oxford (Cowley) test centre on James Wolfe Road. Lessons build up to the roads examiners actually use, in a sensible order, so nothing on test day is new. You will work on:
- The Headington roundabout system and London Road
- Multi lane roundabouts on the Oxford ring road
- Bus lanes, cyclists and traffic through Cowley
- Quieter residential streets in Littlemore and Marston to start with
- Bay parking, parallel parking and pulling up on the right

Four Steps, Nothing Complicated
No forms to fill in before you can see a price, and no pressure to buy a large block before you have met your instructor.
Get your provisional
You need a UK provisional licence before your first lesson. Apply at gov.uk if you do not have one yet, and allow time for it to arrive.
Tell us your timetable
Book online or call 01865 763458. Tell us which days are clear, and whether you are aiming for term time lessons or a vacation block.
Show your student ID
Bring your student ID card to the first lesson. That is the only proof needed, and the discounted rate applies from that lesson onwards.
Structured progress to test
Two hour lessons from then on, arranged with your instructor around your term, building towards mock tests on real Oxford test routes.
Pick Up Across Student Oxford
Most learners are collected from home, whether that is a hall, a college or a house share. Your instructor can also meet you at a safe and legal spot near campus.
Brookes Headington Campus
Headington Road · OX3 0BPThe Gipsy Lane and Headington Hill sites sit right on the Headington roundabout system and London Road, two of the most useful areas in Oxford to learn on.
Brookes Marston Road site
Marston Road · OX3 0FLQuieter approach roads for early lessons, with Marston, Headington and the Eastern Bypass all close by as you build up.
University of Oxford colleges
City centreCentral Oxford is busy and restricted, so lessons usually start a short walk out towards Jericho or Iffley Road where it is safe to pull up.
Cowley and East Oxford
OX4A lot of student houses sit around Cowley Road and Iffley Road. Good traffic practice from the very first lesson, and near the test centre.
Headington and Marston halls
OX3Straight onto the roads examiners use. Convenient if you are at Brookes and want lessons that start the moment you finish for the day.
Summertown, Botley and North Oxford
OX2Wide residential streets for the early hours of car control, then the Banbury Road and the ring road as your confidence grows.
Lesson Options for Oxford Students
Whichever route you take, the student discount applies once your ID has been seen.
Automatic lessons
No gears and no clutch, so more of your attention goes on the road and the traffic. The most popular choice with students, and usually fewer hours to test standard.
Manual lessons
A full licence so you can drive any car once you pass, taught by a fully qualified manual instructor at a pace that suits you.
Intensive courses
A structured block of 20, 30 or 45 hours condensed into a vacation. The quickest realistic route to a licence, but book early because these weeks fill up.
Student and NHS discounts
Fair pricing with dedicated discounts for students and NHS staff, on production of a valid ID card.
Refresher lessons
Passed a while ago but have not driven since, or new to Oxford and finding the ring road and roundabouts daunting. Rebuild confidence at your own pace.
Pass Plus after you pass
Extra training in motorway driving, night driving and poor weather, which some insurers recognise with a discount. Useful when you are a young driver.
