Automatic or Manual?
We offer intensive courses in both automatic and manual vehicles. If you are not sure which suits you, our instructors can advise on your first session. How to Choose the Right intensive driving course in Oxford
There are several driving schools offering intensive courses in Oxford, so it helps to know what to look for before you book.
Do not just go for the cheapest option. A low price often means less experience, older cars, or rushed lessons. Instead, check these three things:
- Pass rate. A high first time pass rate shows the instruction actually works
- Reviews. Read what recent learners say on Google and Trustpilot, not just the testimonials on the school's own site
- DVSA approved. Make sure your instructor is a fully qualified ADI, not a trainee
Taking an hour to research properly could save you hundreds of pounds and weeks of wasted time.
Can you guarantee I will pass my test?
Honestly, no. And be cautious of anyone who says they can.
The driving test is run by an independent DVSA examiner, not the driving school. That means no instructor, anywhere, can actually guarantee you a pass. Your result depends on how you drive on the day.
What we can promise
- You will be taught by a fully qualified, DVSA approved instructor
- Every lesson is focused on making you a safe, confident driver
- You will practise on the exact test routes used in Oxford
- You will only be put forward for the test when you are genuinely ready

01
What is an Intensive Driving Course?
An intensive driving course is a fast paced, condensed driving course designed to teach you to drive in a shorter time frame compared to regular driving lessons. These courses are perfect for learners who need to learn to drive quickly due to time constraints, or who prefer to learn in an immersive environment. Our intensive driving courses are available in automatic and manual vehicles, and we offer semi-intensive and crash course options to suit your schedule.
02
How Our Intensive Driving Course Works
Our intensive courses give you one to one tuition with a professional DVSA approved instructor. The teaching is the same as regular lessons, the difference is that the sessions are longer and run on consecutive days.
Your instructor tailors every course to you. After the first session we know where your strengths and weak spots are, and the rest of the course focuses on the areas that will help you most.
How long the course takes depends on your starting point:
- Complete beginner: around two weeks of full days
- Some experience already: around one week
- Nearly test ready, just need a final push: as little as three days
There are no strict rules. Some learners take a little longer, some finish sooner. We will give you an honest assessment early on so you know what to expect.
03
How much does an intensive driving course cost in Oxford?
Intensive courses are priced as a full package, not per hour. For most learners that works out cheaper than weekly lessons, because you pass sooner and stop paying altogether.
Our Oxford intensive course prices:
- 10 hours (around 3 days): £420
- 20 hours (around 1 week): £820
- 30 hours (around 2 weeks): £1200
All courses include DVSA approved instructors, a dual controlled car, and practice on real Oxford test routes. Practical test fee is not included.
Most UK learners need around 40 to 50 hours of professional instruction before passing. An intensive course gets you there faster, with fewer lessons wasted warming up each week.
One important tip: always check your intensive course is taught by a fully qualified ADI, not a trainee. Every instructor at Oxon Driving Tuitions is fully qualified and DVSA approved.
Practising Real Oxford Test Routes
Every intensive course at Oxon Driving Tuitions includes practice on the actual routes used at Cowley Driving Test Centre. Oxford's roads are not simple. You will encounter bus gates, one-way systems, busy roundabouts on the ring road, and complex junctions in Headington and Cowley.
Your instructor knows which roads come up regularly on test day and will make sure you are fully prepared for them before you sit your practical exam.
